There seems to be an endless number of jazz reissues in the racks these days (and in general, that's a good thing). One of the best is the latest volume of Thelonious Monk's Paris Jazz Concert. Malaco released the first disc a few years ago, and it was a killer. This one is right up there with it, capturing Monk and his quartet on the following night in equally fine form. As was the case with Volume One, the sound quality is outstanding and the performances are inspired. Put the two CDs back to back, and you're set for two full hours of great jazz.
